Personal Injury

Our firm has been a "go to" place for injured West Virginians for over 50 years.  We think this has a lot to do with the continuity of our firm, with what we believe makes us a different kind of law firm, as well as the results we achieve for our clients.  This started with Stephen Meyer who began the firm in 1960.  Stephen, the author of the "Trial Handbook for West Virginia Lawyers" has tried over a hundred cases to verdict and continues helping people and producing results to this day.  Larry Ford has been with the firm since 1988.  Michael Glasser since 1999.

Stockbroker Malpractice and Financial Loss

Stephen Meyer runs the stockbroker practice at the firm, which is good news for our clients and unwelcome news for financial advisors, stockbrokers and other individuals who either fraudulently or negligently handle someone's money.  The firm's securities law practice focuses on representing retired persons or other vulnerable investors who suffer losses of their "nest eggs' or significant investments  due to the negligence or breach  of trust  by financial advisors.

Consumer and Lemon Law

Michael Glasser leads the Lemon Law practice at the firm, which is one of the largest in the State.  With offices in Charleston and Morgantown the firm now takes Lemon Law cases across West Virginia.

Although the Lemon Law only applies to new cars, you may have a case if your car still is under warranty, and in some circumstances, even if it is out of warranty.  The firm will evaluate your case, and if we are able to help, will aggressively pursue your rights against the car companies or dealerships which have failed to honor their promises.

Medical Malpractice

We take cases involving doctors, hospitals, nursing homes and other health care providers and facilities. These types of cases are very difficult due to the complexities of medical issues, and are further complicated due to the laws passed by the West Virgnia Legislature which have made it increasingly hard to recover from injuries caused by a medical care provider's negligence.  Because of these laws, fewer and fewer firms are willing to take on medical malpractice cases.  Most firms simply find them to be too complex and expensive to risk pursuing.

Product Liability

When someone is injured due to a defectively manufactured product, the company which designed, manufactured or sold the item can be held responsible.  The lawyers at Meyer, Ford & Glasser have handled these types of case throughout the over 55 years we have been assisting injured West Virginians.  These cases can involve any type of product, from medical appliances to automobiles, and items used in the home.  As with the medical malpractice field of law, these cases are very technical in nature and require an experienced legal team to maximize the chance of success.

Employment Law

The employment law practice at Meyer, Ford and Glasser is growing fast and increasingly becoming a focus of the firm.  Sean Cook concentrates his practice in employment law and has been experiencing great success. The firm represents employees who are the victims of wrongful termination, retaliation, or discrimination of any kind.  None of these types of actions can be tolerated in our state.  As Sean has said, "it is shocking to see see the rights of so many individuals being trampled in the workplace.

A Different Kind of Law Firm

Meyer, Ford & Glasser, PLLC, was formed in 1960 by Stephen Meyer.  Since that time the firm has become well known in West Virginia for handling both complex and more basic civil litigation.  Every lawyer in the firm has successfully handled cases worth in excess of $1,000,000.00.  We practice law using cutting edge technology but connect with our clients in a more traditional manner.  We keep our clients up to date on their cases.  We return phone calls.
